BIG Shout out to GMS and EMS for making HISTORY this evening by hosting Goddard School District's FIRST EVER all-girls wrestling meet. It was exciting, competitive, and amazing to see these young ladies battle on a Friday night at Eisenhower. Good Luck the rest of the season!

Kansas State University will be hosting the Girls Researching Our World (GROW) Workshop on Saturday, March 2nd at the K-State Manhattan Campus.
At the workshop, middle school students will participate in hands-on STEM activities designed by K-State faculty, staff and student organizations. Each activity will showcase a "STEM superhero" (past or present) and the amazing contributions they made or are making in their field. The mission of GROW is to increase girls' interest in STEM fields. All students in grades 6-8 are welcome to attend.
Attached is a flyer with more information about the GROW program, contact information for questions, and how to register for the event.

As we celebrate National Special Education Day, we have a lot of things to be excited about as we enter our third year of being the host district in the Goddard Special Education Cooperative. Our cooperative serves 1,732 students in 21 school buildings within the communities of Goddard, Clearwater, Conway Springs, and Cheney. Our cooperative also serves students with disabilities who attend St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Wichita, Holy Spirit in Goddard, St. Joseph in Conway Springs, and St. Peter in Schulte. Our staff in these communities do an incredible job of working with all students regardless of their disability. They define the mission of our cooperative, that all students can learn together in a school community and participate meaningfully via inclusive education systems that meet the unique needs of all students.

Before the Fall break, students and staff participated in the Wichita Suburban League annual food drive. We collected food items, as well as monetary donations to purchase food items, all week. Goals were tied to incentives for the week and boy did everyone show out!
If we hit our weekly goal, students got the chance to "pie" up to 10 selected teachers/staff in the face on Friday. Enough money was donated and food items were brought in to not only hit our goal, but to exceed it far enough that ALL 10 TEACHERS/STAFF got pied.
What a great way to go into Fall break. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Tomorrow we "build" or way to Victory! GMS Lions 7/8 GBB vs. Lakewood tips off at 5pm. Go to "work" Lions!

What's up for GMS Athletics in the final week of November? We have a wrestling Triangular once at EMS and Girls Basketball twice, once on the road at Valley Center and one playing host to Salina Lakewood MS. Go Lions!

GMS Lions Don't forget this is going on all week long! Everyone CAN Help!
