You may have noticed a different name on the emails and communications you have been receiving from Goddard Middle School. This school year, Goddard Middle School has a new building Principal and we would like to take this opportunity to welcome and introduce him.

Cody Kohler comes to GMS from next door at Goddard High School. He is entering his 11th year in Goddard Public Schools where he served as a Social Studies Teacher, Coach, and Assistant Principal during his 10 years at Goddard High School.

Originally from nearby Garden Plain, Kansas, Mr. Kohler was raised in a small community similar to Goddard in many ways and feels appreciative of that upbringing. He achieved his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from Kansas State University in 2016. Mr. Kohler began his teaching career at Goddard High School in the fall of 2016. He then achieved his Masters in Educational Leadership from Fort Hays State University in 2021 and joined the Goddard High School Administration team as Assistant Principal and Activities Director in the Fall of 2021. After serving 4 years in that role, Mr. Kohler was selected as the next Principal at Goddard Middle School following the retirement of longtime Principal, Mrs. Hogarth.

Outside of work, Mr. Kohler is blessed with a wonderful and supportive family. His wife Molly is in Nursing Education at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and they have three children together; Archie (Kindergarten in District), Teddy (3), and Isidore (6 months). Together, they enjoy spending time with their extended families that are mostly local to the area.

Mr. Kohler feels so blessed to join the Goddard Middle School family and is excited to begin this journey with all of our students, staff, and families!
