At the end of March, we are saying goodbye to a long-time member of the GMS family! Ron March, our Head Building Engineer, is retiring, and we wanted to hear a little bit from him about his journey before and during his time at GMS. He started at GMS in March 2006, with a wide-range of jobs prior to coming. Ron worked in the automotive industry, was employed in a few buildings doing floor care and setups for events, and supervised for a large church. Before he arrived at GMS he was floor tech in a nursing home.
When asked what Ron enjoyed about his time at GMS, here is what he said: “What brought me here was another chance to lead and do what I enjoyed most. I loved the challenge of taking care of a building and all the people involved. The best part of this job is the challenge of summer turnaround and the satisfaction you get when all is ready for the new school year to start. The worst part is leaving all my friends here. Although it is not goodbye forever. As I always say.......See You Tomorrow!”
Thank you, Ron, for all you’ve done to make GMS a beautiful and safe place for our staff and students! You will be missed!
