Robotics

For the first time, GMS has Robotics teams, and they have been hard at work! Sponsored by Mrs. St. Peter and Ms. Vaughn, fifteen students meet before school twice a week and after school as able to design and build robots to compete against other schools’ teams, with opportunities to qualify for state and world competitions. The sponsors may advise, but all building and problem-solving comes from the students. They have to maintain a notebook, documenting their process, progress, and any changes they make along the way. The GMS teams are named Goddard Alpha, Mission: ImBOTssible, GearStorm, and The Circuit Breakerz. At their first competition, three out of four teams made it into bracket play, with two teams making it into the top four. The Goddard Alpha team received a special judges award for their efforts. Way to go, Robotics teams! We look forward to watching your success!
