Congratulations to Officers Lamar, Malcom & Pulver (USD 265 Police Officers) for receiving the District Attitude Award from the USD 265 Board of Education! These officers were nominated by Sabrina Watkins, Ember Hope Educator, who shared the following, “The officers have been coming out to Ember Hope for the past few weeks. They have had a huge impact on the students out here; they have created positive relationships with students who had a severe hatred of law enforcement officers. Some of the students now ask when the officers are coming out, and ask for them when they want to talk about problems they are having. They play games with the students, help them with their work, and overall provide a sense of belonging to the students. These officers have had a profound impact on a few of the students, so much so they genuinely look forward to dealing with the police now instead of being filled with fear and disdain.”
