Good morning families, we are excited for Grandparent’s Day and books and breakfast this Monday from 7:30-8:30. We received over 600 RSVP’s and that is a lot more than we expected. The book fair may get a little crowded or we may develop a bottleneck at checkout. If you are not able to visit the book fair on Monday, it will be open during parent-teacher conferences.
Attached are some instructions for the day as well as maps for parking and building entrance/locations, please pass these on to family members who do not follow us on Facebook or receive emails. We want to have a smooth and safe morning and enjoy having our grandparents and family members in the building.
Thank you,
Mr. Hollas

Explorer Families! We are still looking for amazing people to join Explorer's Work Family!

While we had our fingers crossed and hearts full of hope, we want to share the latest news. Melissa Haney, our amazing science teacher, did not win the title of Kansas Teacher of the Year for 2024.
The honor goes to Taylor Bussinger, a middle school teacher from Olathe. We congratulate Taylor on this remarkable achievement and extend our warmest wishes to him.
Although Melissa didn’t secure the title tonight, her dedication to our students and the passion she brings to her classroom are unwavering and she represented Explorer and USD 265 well . Her message tonight was about the importance of building relationships with her students and in that category she is a true champion. She’s a true winner in our hearts, and we are incredibly proud of her.
Thank you, Melissa, for all that you do for Explorer Elementary. Your impact is immeasurable, and you are forever loved by your students and colleges.
