Mr. Brett Morrison (Director of Instrumental Music - Challenger Intermediate School, Goddard Middle School/ Goddard High School) earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music from Wichita State University where he studied with Robert Grimm, John Hagstrom, and Tim McCool. After finishing his undergraduate work, he moved to Colorado to begin preparation for graduate school at the University of Northern Colorado. At the University of Northern Colorado Mr. Morrison studied trumpet with Mr. Bill Pfund, participated in UNC's nationally recognized jazz program, earned his Masters of Music and completed the teacher licensure program. After student teaching, Mr. Morrison became the Director of Bands for the Atoka Public School District in Atoka, Oklahoma; a position which he held for four years. Mr. Morrison is a member of NAfME and has been a member of the International Trumpet Guild.
Mr. Morrison is in his 11th year on the Instrumental Music Staff for Goddard Public Schools, during which time his groups have earned Superior Ratings at numerous Festivals and perform many times throughout the year in numerous venues throughout the state of Kansas and throughout the United States. Mr. Morrison is frequently in demand as a adjudicator at local music festivals. Mr. Morrison's duties this year will include band at Challenger, Band, Marching Band, and Jazz band at Goddard Middle School as well as Band, Marching Band, Solo and Ensemble and Jazz Band at Goddard High School.
