Hi and Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year!
I am Deanna Ferris, the School Social Worker who serves Eisenhower Middle School, Goddard Middle School and Amelia Earhart Elementary. I am also the Circle of Friends Coordinator for EMS students. I have worked in the social service field for 30 plus years, with 20 of them being in the schools. I received my bachelors degree from Emporia State University and my Masters degree from The University of Kansas. I love kids and I love my job! I believe EVERY student has strengths and abilitiies and when identified and nurtured, can enhance and propel them towards a bright future.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to be active and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Travel, hiking in the mountains, swimming, biking and taking walks with my beloved German Shepard are some of my favorites. I am also very active in my church and volunteer with a variety of community organizations. I am blessed by all the opportunties to interact with such wonderful people, kids and adults alike. When I am not out and about, I love to cook, bake, sew and read, along with enjoying a plethora of music styles. I am always looking for something new to learn.
I believe every student, every person, is a gift and has a purpose in life. I believe in living life to the fullest, with as much love and laughter as you can fit in a day, celebrating God's unending blessings! I am so excited about the opportunity to meet you and your children. Please feel free to call me with any questions or needs.
